ZİÇEV students took part in a nature walk along the St Paul’s Way as part of the HIKE4ALL project run by the Cultural Routes Association.
The Culture Routes Society, which carries out work aimed at establishing, preserving and promoting long-distance walking routes in Turkey, is implementing the ‘HIKE4ALL: Healthy Walking for Everyone on Cultural Routes’ project – supported under the European Union’s Erasmus+ Sport Programme – in collaboration with its local partners, the ZİÇEV Antalya branch and Eğirdir Municipality. As part of the project, free walking events are being organised along cultural routes to bring together all sections of society, particularly people with disabilities, through nature walks and to encourage healthy lifestyle habits.
In this context, a day-long walking event was held on 17 October 2026 along the St Paul’s Trail in and around Eğirdir. A group of walkers comprising ZİÇEV participants and local residents walked together around the Eğirdir Peninsula, joined by Mustafa Özer, Mayor of Eğirdir. Following a cultural visit to St Stephen’s Church, the group travelled to Akpınar Village in vehicles provided by the municipality, where they had the opportunity to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Eğirdir.
The HIKE4ALL project, which brings together representatives from ZİÇEV and local participants, as well as project partners representing cultural routes from Turkey, Italy, the Czech Republic, Spain and Norway, aims to promote walking as an inclusive activity open to everyone and to strengthen the contribution of cultural routes to public health, local communities and sustainable tourism. The project will continue with various activities until the end of 2026.
