The Culture Routes Society, which is a member of the World Trails Network, has been invited to twin a section of the Lycian Way with a trail in Taiwan. We have chosen the stretch of the Lycian Way from Çıralı to Tahtalı – from the shore of the Mediterranean to the high point of the Lycian Way.
Trails have multiplied in the beautiful, mountainous island of Taiwan since the Greenway Movement and the Thousand Miles Trail Association was formed in 2006. As well at the Mountain to Sea trail, Taiwan has historical and cultural trails (Tamsui-Kavalan), the Raknus Selu trail, which is twinned with the famous Jeju Olle trail in Korea and a huge network of coastal trails is under development. Taiwan will host the fourth Asian Trails Conference this year, and hopes to reach out to many more countries to share the delights of trails and travel.
We are anxious to present the beauties of Turkish trails to Taiwanese travellers, so that after our COVID problems end we can share activities and encourage trekkers to visit us.
Watch this video about the Nenggao Trail – it is truly impressive.

One of our first joint activities will be an on-line book fair where we will share books about Lycia with international trekkers and travellers.
