The first annual Demre-Kekova Outdoor and Nomad Cuisine Festival was organized in Kapaklı Village on October 27-29th, with the leadership of Kapaklı-Hoyran Culture Tourism and Development Society. On the opening day, protocol and village residents and tourists were present.
Each day represented a different focus: hiking, canoeing (including a boat tour) and a bicycle tour. The eco-market in the village enabled local people to sell their home-made artisan products, food and beverages. The aim of the festival was to promote Demre-Kekova region, Lycian Way, local culture and food. Thanks to Kapaklı village people and to everybody, especially Barış Yüksel, who put in a lot of time and effort to make this event happen.

Dear Kate, and all concerned,
Congratulations. Thank you for sending me this news. I nearly skipped the mail ‘Culture Tours’ as I get so many under that name which are mainly copies of Fest Tourism and the KBGV (Kültür Bilincini Geliştirme Vakfı) of which I am a founding member.
Luckily, I had a quick look.
I am so happy and so grateful to hear you and your friends are continuing to do amazing work to protect and promote these beautiful areas and villages. I hope to join you in Kapaklı next time. I will send on your news to friends.
Lykia is unique in the world! The more people know about it and protect it the better.
Do you have a membership program?
With best wishes,
Vera
